Southeastern Minnesota Saddle Club Association

Nonprofit Design System Custom Build Figma
Full homepage of the SEMSCA website

Overview

SEMSCA is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that brings together 12 saddle clubs across southeastern Minnesota for horse shows, programs, and year-end awards, including the Horseperson of the Year. The association needed one clear home online that feels like it belongs to the western riding community it serves.

The Challenge

Show schedules, forms, awards, and sponsor information were spread out with no single place to find them. The site needed to organize all of it clearly, give sponsors real visibility, and work as well on a phone at the arena as it does on a desktop.

The Solution

I started with a full design system in Figma: an old-west visual direction with western display type, a brick-red and saddle-brown palette, reusable components, and a sitemap. From there I hand-coded the homepage in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, with a hero and quick stats, programs and awards, an info grid linking to shows, events, forms, awards, rules, and resources, and a sponsor carousel.

Where It Stands

The homepage is built and the association approved the sponsor section as designed. The next step is presenting the site to SEMSCA's board before building out the remaining pages.

Tools Used

Figma (design system, wireframes, mockups), VS Code (HTML, CSS, JavaScript), GitHub Pages (preview hosting).
